Maurice Hall has Baby with Underage Girl then Abuses It

I don’t know what’s worse in this story - the fact that Maurice U. Hall Jr., 32, was having sex with a girl half his age. Or that he shook their eight-week-old son Jeremiah so violently that he’s blind and probably will never walk, talk or feed himself.

I guess the judge agrees with me because he found overwhelming evidence of Hall’s guilt and gave him a 28 year prison term. Hall was convicted by a jury of aggravated battery of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse for the relationship with the baby’s mother.

But I think prosecutors didn’t do enough. According to Hall, he had a sexual relationship with the baby’s mom with her family’s blessing since she was 14. (She gave birth when she was 15.) Don’t know why they weren’t charged with abuse especially after [prosecutors learned that the girl had a written contract with Hall that outlined rules and specific sex acts. If she didn’t hold up her end of the bargain, according to the contract, she had to pay him a fine. Ick!

The defense really ticked me off, too. According to both senior assistant public defenders the mother was the real abuser. And Hall wasn’t ”ready for a baby.” Oh please, what a crap excuse.
